Stay motivated and don’t allow osteoporosis to keep you from living a good quality of life. Osteoporosis is a deterioration of the bones in our bodies. Not being aware of it can lead to several bone fractures that can turn your life into misery.

About 4 years ago Ann Marais (86) fell, broke her hip and didn’t know exactly what to expect.  She shared that osteoporosis hadn’t changed her life; she still did all the things that gave her pleasure, but she did realise the importance of being aware of the condition. She has read up about it and urges others to have their DXA scans done to find out whether they have brittle bones or not.

Being diagnosed with osteoporosis would require some adaptions in your life in terms of exercise, diet, medication and how you move, but in her experience, it wasn’t something to be scared of.

She shares: “Your bones matter and together we can fight osteoporosis.“
