Tereza Hough

CEO

Teréza Hough is the CEO of the National Osteoporosis Foundation of South Africa (NOFSA) and has been involved in the field of Osteoporosis for the past 35 years. First was the Chief Professional Nurse in charge of the Endocrine unit at Tygerberg Hospital and the Educational Officer for NOFSA. She was also the study coordinator and DXA Operator for various clinical trials on osteoporosis.

She is a member of various patient Societies, a member of the South African Institute for Fundraising as well as a member of the Committee for National Societies (CNS) of the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) since 2003. She is also an IOF Board of Trustees member, Chair of the Patient Societies Sub-Committee of the CNS and member of the Capture the Fracture Governance for Africa.

She was co-author on several articles in Medical Journals and has written numerous articles on osteoporosis and related topics for the lay press, written chapters on endocrinology for postgraduate nurses presented at various National and International meetings and is a guest speaker at several radio and television shows.

Teréza is also a keen lobbyist for the rights of patients and has taken part in several working groups, advisory boards and expert panels, both on national and international levels.
